Using Biblical, grace-based materials you will have time to talk with your spouse and explore ways to enrich your relationship. Who can attend?
Any married couple may attend. A couple does not have to be a member of our church to participate.
Child Care?
Grace Marriage sessions last 4 hours. That is a long time for children to be at the church building, even if they have activities. We believe that most children would be happier in their own homes or with family/friends they know. We also want to give couples the freedom to focus on each other without feeling the need to check on the kids if they are just down the hallway. For these reasons, childcare will only be offered to those who cannot find other assistance. Consider the coaching days as an extended date – time for just the two of you. Childcare will come from youth students and the extra cost will offset the cost of childcare to pay for their time. Contact Amy Haley for information.
Who will we be with?
You will be in a group with your spouse as well as other couples who want their marriage to grow. Eight to Ten couples, plus a trained facilitator couple, will walk through the day’s material together. Spouses will have personal time together throughout the day to privately discuss the topics addressed. Groups will have mixed ages. Newly married as well as couples who have been married for decades will be involved. Remember, Grace Marriage is about spending time with your spouse, not about being with close friends. Although you will get to know others in your group better, the purpose is to spend time with your husband/wife and focus on your marriage.
What does it cost?
What does a normal date night cost if you go out to eat and see a movie or go to a ballgame or concert? $75? $100? More? The cost for four days, including all materials, meals, etc. is just $200 per couple for the year ($250 w/childcare). That is less than $1 a day for a year. We encourage you to consider your participation fee as an investment in your marriage. What a great Christmas, birthday, or anniversary gift. An “early bird” discounted rate of $175 ($225 w/childcare) is offered if paid in full by February 12.
Is there a deadline?
